Container Plant Workshop
The Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons is partnering with Amy Halsey, a local grower and expert on container plants, for a workshop on how to select and care for these plants. The educational program will be offered Saturday, April 24, 2010, beginning at 1:00PM, at the greenhouses of Amy's Flowers, 757 Mecox Road, Water Mill.
Demonstrating with varieties from her large inventory, Ms. Halsey will discuss different container plantings, ranging from succulent to monnchromatic to traditional. Workshop participants may also purchase plants from the greenhouse and, if it is too cool to place them outdoors immediately, leave them warmly housed at Amy's Flowers until milder weather.
Non-members of the HAH are charged $20.00 to attend the workshop, for enrolled members the fee is $15.00, for Premium Members the fee is $10.00. To confirm a place, a check should be mailed to HAH, P.O. Box 202, Bridgehampton, NY 11931, to arrive by April 10; with the envelope marked "Amy's Container Workshop." Further information can be requested by leaving a message for Janet Donohoe Ollinger, the program's chairman, at the HAH office, 631-537-2223.
